Goddess Brahmacharini was worshiped on this day. She is the unmarried, celibate form of Goddess Durga. Devi Brahmacharini is the goddess of asceticism and penance and governs the planet Mars. Sindhara Dooj is also a significant festival for women which fell yesterday.
