Our volunteers are the unsung heroes who graciously contribute their time, skills, and energy to the needs of our temple communities, and the world positively. Their altruistic and philanthropic approach with high level of energy, and skills benefits our devotees and community, this is very commendable. It is their polite demeanor, passion, and commitment that is admired by our devotees at Durga Temple and community.
By volunteering, individuals can positively impact on the lives of others and the broader community while also gaining personal gratification and encourages others to join our volunteer team.

Our temple, being a non-profit, service-based religious, cultural, and educational organization, relies on volunteer efforts of its devotees. We have categorized a few ways you can offer your time and expertise to the temple. To join as volunteer, please click here and fill the form.
~ Religious activities:
Help our temple priest (pundit ji) before and after with set up and wrap up needed for temple events, like puja. Help decorate the temple and deities.
~ Special events’ management:
Work with event’s coordinator in pre and post event activities like setting up chairs and tables, setting up sound system, manage attendees’ registrations, decorating the temple, coordinate parking, and general clean-up.
~ Kitchen:
Assist the Langar Committee volunteers with cooking, grocery shopping, arranging tables and chairs for serving food, serving food, and clean up. Helping plan and coordinate food to be cooked at various temple events.
~ Tech support:
Help with coordinating and hosting zoom meetings, updating website, editing and updating temple newsletter, creating marketing literature like flyers, etc.
~ Repair and maintenance:
Coordinate with volunteer committee and come in on a day when there are no events in the temple to help with general tasks. It maybe planting of approved shrubs and flowering plants in accordance with temple’s landscape, organize kitchen pantries, repair electronics, and other such temple work.
~ Donate your expertise to the temple:
This is an opportunity for those who are willing to offer their professional skills, talents, and resources for a specific number of hours per week. Our temple’s volunteer committee would have information on what specific help they will need.
