In the spirit of service (sewa), the trustees of Durga Temple of Westchester are committed to establishing the highest standards of ethical behavior, transparency, and accountability in all our operations. We dedicate ourselves to adopting best practices in governance to fulfill our mission and serve our community effectively in alignment with itsmission.

Meet our Founding Trustees

Dr. Om P Dhiman is a graduate of IIM Ahmedabad. He also has a PhD in economics and Finance from The City University of New York. He has an extensive career in the New York Wall street, specializing in advisory roles to Fortune 500 companies in Corporate Finance, Mergers and acquisitions, and Derivatives.

Currently he is head of the family business that has investments in commercial and residential real estate in New York City and suburbs. He lives with his wife Kamla Dhiman in the village of Scarsdale. 

Dr Dhiman grew up in India and has a great reverence for Hindu religion and love for India. Along with many community friends, he has been instrumental in acquiring and building our temple.

Dr. Suresh Khanna is a board-certified practicing neonatologist with a strong love for Hindu culture and civilization. He is a founding trustee of the Durga Temple of Westchester and the President of the Hudson Valley chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya, where he has organized fundraising events for over 25 years.
Additionally, Dr. Khanna serves as a Board member of Param Shakti Peeth of America and actively participates in their annual fundraising efforts.
He is also associated with Hindu Sanghtan and Seva International and is a founding member who contributes to fundraising events for the Hindu American Political Action Committee (HPAC). 

“As a proud Sanatani (Hindu), deeply rooted in our Hindu culture and civilization, I felt a strong need for a Hindu Temple in our community. This temple would serve as a center for our religious, cultural, and social activities, a learning hub for all ages, and a place to teach our children Classical Indian dances and music, as well as host activities for our seniors.” 

Dr. Suresh Khanna

Dr. Aruna Pal is a State licensed physician and a psychiatrist in a clinic facility in New York. She has worked as an attending physician psychiatrist over 25 years at several facilities including, and her expertise includes taking care of the mental health needs of patients in forensic facilities. 

She has worked tirelessly in taking care of psychiatric needs of the local community members, and has worked closely with various clinical teams in providing professional and clinical opinion to improve patients’ mental health, including attending court hearings as an expert witness.
