Mittul Mishra Artist, Painter, Software Architect, Painter

Mittul Mishra is an artist and software architect with both Indian and American roots. A self-taught painter, she studied electrical engineering and holds a diploma in computer science. Whether designing software or painting on canvas, Mittul approaches each creative endeavor as a form of alchemy—transforming the simple into the sublime.
Her art is deeply inspired by the rich textile traditions of India. From the shimmer of Banarasi silk to the bold block prints of Rajasthan, she draws upon vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and the cultural stories embedded in Mithila paintings. Through layered textures and flowing forms, Mittul brings these influences on life on canvas, honoring both memory and craftsmanship. She is also inspired by the Masters and employs techniques such as impasto.

For Mittul, a painting is a living entity that constantly shifts with light, time, and perspective. Her work celebrates heritage, emotion, and the transformative power of creativity.

We have a couple of her paintings at “Durga Temple of Westchester”
