7th Day of Chaitra Navratri, 2019: Saptami

On Saptami (seventh day), devotees observed Kalratri Pooja, dedicated to the seventh avatar of Goddess Durga. Kalratri is the fiercest and most ferocious form of Maa Shakti who slayed demons Sumbha and Nisumbha. The day also marked Maha Saptami.

6th Day of Chaitra Navratri, 2019: Shashthi

On Shashthi (sixth day), devotees perform Katyayani Puja to please the sixth avatar of Devi Duga. Katyayani who rules Brihaspati (planet Jupiter) is known for her anger, vengeance and power. But if you pray to Maa Katyayani with a pure heart, she is known to bless devotees with desired boons.

5th Day of Chaitra Navratri, 2019: Panchami

Devi Skandamata, the fifth form of Goddess Durga was worshiped yesterday. She governs the planet Mangal (Mercury). Skandamata is the mother of the war god Skanda also known as Kartikeya, Murugan or Subramanya. This day is also celebrated as Skanda Sashti, especially by Tamil Hindus. Naag Pooja is also observed on this day.

4th Day of Chaitra Navratri, 2019: Chaturthi

Devotees prayed to Devi Kushmanda, the fourth form of Devi Durga. According to the Hindu texts, she created the universe with a flash of her smile and also governs the Sun. On Chaturthi (the fourth day), and as per the Hindu scriptures Chaturthi Tithi belongs to Lord Ganesha. While every lunar month has two Chaturthi dates, the one during Navratri holds much religious significance. Lakshmi Panchami is also celebrated on this day.

Each days Ramayan Path brings more enthusiasm to the devotees as we sing our way towards Ram Navami on April 14th.

3rd Day of Chaitra Navratri, 2019: Tritaya

Maa Chandraghanta was worshipped on the third day of Chaitra Navratri. She is the third avatar of Durga – her married form which governs the planet Venus. Yesterday was also a celebration of Gauri Pooja, which women celebrate for marital bliss. It is done in honour of Maa Gauri and Lord Shiva. Saubhagya Teej is observed by married women keeping Saubhagya Sundari Vrat.
